Estimatic was an instant-estimate SaaS for auto body shops. Customers could submit vehicle damage details and photos through an embeddable flow while the shop received a structured estimate lead.
I sold the software asset for $700. I keep buyer and transaction details private, but the closing price is public because it is useful context for the build-to-sell experiments documented on this site.
Why I built it
It applied the instant-quote pattern to a vertical where photos contain useful information before the first conversation.
Biggest lesson
A focused vertical product can still become a transferable asset even without becoming a large standalone company.
