I am Petru Amortoae, an independent senior web designer and developer based in Sibiu, Romania. I have spent 14 years building websites, web applications and digital products for small businesses, founders and teams in the United States and Europe.
From client work to products
I have shipped more than 800 websites and work with around 60 small-business clients in a typical year. My background is unusually broad because the job rarely stopped at design or code. I have handled WordPress, Shopify, Next.js, UX/UI, e-commerce, booking systems, analytics, SEO, hosting, domains, business email, deployment and maintenance.
That experience is now turning into products. I build SaaS tools, WordPress products and small internet businesses, test them in public, and sometimes sell them. This site is the operating log.
What I believe
- The right stack is the one the business can operate, not the one developers find fashionable.
- Shipping code is only part of the job. Distribution, documentation, handoff and support determine whether a product becomes a business.
- Revenue numbers are useful only when they are labeled honestly. MRR, one-time sales, profit and exit proceeds are different things.
- AI makes building faster, but it does not remove the need for product judgment, QA, security or distribution.
How I work
I work personally and async by default. For website projects, I handle strategy, design and development without agency layers. For founders, TaskToProd is the productized path for ongoing MVP development.
This site is intentionally transparent about what is live, what is growing, what failed, what is for sale and what was sold. I would rather publish a useful postmortem than pretend every launch wins.
